copies

By pure chance I found two xml files in the Google archives. I used them to create this and that blog.
I do not know what this is all about and I am not responsible for the content.

many worlds

I think this paper is interesting and I asked Steve about it.

added later: I got no response, so I asked Scott the same question.

the professor

He could suddenly see how it all fits together. The symmetry of the Hamiltonian and the wave function of the universe. But at the same time a way to get the basic structure of time and the asymmetry of past and future. An incredible new description of reality from a new theory of everything.

He finally had the equation, it all worked out, he could see it immediately. Finally the relationship between the Mind and the Now was fully understood, as well as the symmetry of subject and object.
Suddenly it all made sense...

The formula was just too beautiful - it explained everything, like an eternal music, spherical harmonies. He could almost hear it - an overwhelming beauty. It took his breath away and tears were running down his face...
It was just too much!

But fortunately he remembered that he had to write it down, other people had to know it too. He needed a pen and some paper - quick. He screamed her name to ask for some help with this.

She came right away and he hardly felt the sting. Today they were all agitated again, but nurse Ann was used to it and the valium would calm him down in minutes and put him to sleep.

A room full of difficult cases, depressed maniacs and schizophrenic idiots. Interesting perhaps, but certainly difficult; But she knew how to handle them.

Through the glass door she saw the young new doctor walking by. She had the night shift and so did he. She was looking forward to it.

bubbles

A Harvard physicist has a new idea how to cool the planet: Pump tiny bubbles into the sea to increase its reflectivity and subsequently lower water temperatures.
What could possibly go wrong?
